Students of today have grown up surrounded by technology, therefore it is of utmost importance to ensure they are as safe as possible when using the internet.

We made a conscious effort to educate the pupils on every aspect of e-safety, covering 6 “hot topics” and showing them video campaigns highlighting real-life events.

The classes proceeded to produce their own way of educating others on the points they had learnt – whether this be through a video, poster, leaflet. To do this, the students researched their chosen area online, a few links were provided to get them started.

Following on from this the school also had a visit from The Be Safe on Island Team. Where students were given the opportunity there and then to change their social media privacy settings, and conduct a google search of themselves to see what was publicly available.

One Y9 student produced an interactive video that later went on to be uploaded to the school’s website.
